 Course: Data, Digital Markets and Competition, in partnership with Idec

The Course “Data, Digital Markets and Competition”, offered free of charge in partnership with the Consumer Protection Institute (IDEC) emerged to expose and develop the challenges faced by antitrust law in the current scenario of digital markets. Specifically, it aimed at disseminating the debate about the intersection between data protection and competition law in Brazil, presenting the state of the art of antitrust regulation on the world stage, exploring how antitrust regulation can handle mergers driven by data [data-driven mergers], presenting a scenario of possible strategic litigation, developing skills for formulating public policies on issues of digital markets and analyzing paradigmatic cases of antitrust in digital markets.The course had students from different areas who were interested in the intersection between data protection and competition law (lawyers, economists, public servants, researchers, third sector professionals, managers responsible for the implementation of competition and/or data protection policies can train and update their knowledge in the area). It had a workload of 12 hours, held over four days with three specialists: Marcela Mattiuzzo (VCMA), Lucas Griebeler da Motta (University of Chicago) and Bruno Braz de Castro (UFMG).
