 Journalism and personal data protection: freedom of expression, information and communication as foundational principles of th Brazilian General Data Protection Law

In order to discuss how “freedom of expression, information and communication are pillars of the Brazilian General Data Protection Law, and why it is important to comprehend the rules of protection of personal data from the perspective that journalistic activity must be a priority in a Democratic State of Law”, the Data Privacy Brazil Research Association and the Brazilian Association of Investigative Journalism (Abraji) jointly publish the text “Journalism and protection of personal data: freedom of expression, information and communication as the foundations of the Brazilian General Data Protection Law”.

The report is the result of a process of formation and joint discussion by the teams of the two associations, from the workshops that also had the participation of invited specialists.
