In February 2026, New Delhi will host the AI Impact Summit, one of the leading global forums on artificial intelligence governance. Organized by the Indian government, the Summit builds on earlier high-level initiatives such as the AI Safety Summit (Bletchley Park, 2023), the AI Seoul Summit (2024), and the AI Action Summit (Paris, 2025).

Although these Summits are characterized by a low degree of institutionalization and largely shaped by host-country priorities, they have become increasingly relevant spaces for diplomatic engagement on AI. At the same time, meaningful multistakeholder participation, particularly by civil society, has remained limited.

For the first time, the Summit will take place in a Global South country, creating an opportunity to broaden perspectives and move beyond dominant Global North framings. In this context, the Global South Alliance will actively engage throughout the event, with around 15 of its 26 civil society organizations expected to participate in person.

GSA members will be working to raise awareness of Global South priorities, advancing a rights-based approach on issues such as the future of work, meaningful multistakeholder participation and contextualized approaches to AI governance, while promoting approaches that safeguard their data, knowledge systems, and territorial rights and prevent unintended or discriminatory impacts in the deployment of AI systems. Through these efforts, members will seek to ensure that these themes are recognized as core priorities of the Summit, marking a departure from the focus of previous editions.

Below is a list of side events and sessions in which Alliance members will be involved:
